RCP500 Rigowski series
The Micsig RCP500 is a flexible Rogowski current clamp that has been specially developed for the precise measurement of alternating currents. It offers a bandwidth of 15 Hz to 300 kHz and can measure currents in the range of 200 mA to 500 A peak with a typical accuracy of 1 %. This high accuracy remains constant over the entire measurement range as the system is based on a linear output signal that remains proportional to the measured current.
An outstanding feature of the RCP500 is its ability to measure complex current signals, including transient inrush currents of power electronics components, sinusoidal currents in three-phase power supply systems and current measurements of IGBTs and MOSFETs. The probe is able to minimise the phase shift between the output signal and the current waveform to less than 0.8°, which enables very precise signal reproduction.
The RCP500 has a robust and compact design, including a thin Rogowski coil with an inner diameter of 50 mm, which makes it possible to perform measurements even in confined environments. The probe is compatible with the Micsig UPI multifunction probe interface, which means it can be used directly with the latest Micsig oscilloscopes without the need for an additional power supply. Alternatively, it can be connected to oscilloscopes from other manufacturers using a Micsig PA05 adapter.
Further advantages of the RCP500 include its low noise generation of less than 2 mV rms and its high immunity to external magnetic fields, which have an influence of less than 1.5 % on the measurement result. The maximum operating voltage is 10 kV RMS (only for the Rogowski coil part), which makes the probe suitable for high voltage applications.
Overall, the Micsig RCP500 is a versatile and precise current clamp that is ideal for demanding measurement tasks in power electronics and other areas where accurate measurement of alternating currents is required.
