Description
Motor drives, inverters, and switched-mode power supplies combine high voltages, variable reference points, and multiple signals that must be acquired simultaneously. To clearly identify the high-side switch while simultaneously monitoring gate drive, phase current, and control logic, a complex interplay of probes and measuring instruments is typically required.
The MOIP-MHO68-350 bundle combines all of this on a single table. The SigOFIT MOIP350P measures floating nodes over fiber optics with a laser-driven probe, 118 dB common-mode rejection ratio (CMRR) at 350 MHz, and a common-mode voltage range of 85 kVpp. The Micsig MHO68-350 records the result, along with up to seven other signals, at 12-bit resolution and 6 GSa/s. Both the probe and oscilloscope are rated for 350 MHz.
Built for
- Motor drives and power converters – inverter branches, phase voltages and control signals in one acquisition
- Inverters, UPS systems and switched-mode power supplies – development, validation and troubleshooting
- Half/full bridge circuits – voltage at the high-side gate and at the switching node
- Current shunt measurements – small differential voltages across potential-free shunts
- Small signal measurements – direct SMA input with integrated 2:1 attenuation
- High-voltage safety testing, EMC and ESD troubleshooting – potential-free measurements
The probe: SigOFIT MOIP350P (Gen 3)
The fiber optic connection interrupts the ground connection between the circuit and the oscilloscope, and the probe is powered by a laser instead of a local power supply. As a third-generation probe, it measures without calibration or automatic zeroing.
- 350 MHz bandwidth, rise time ≤ 1 ns
- Common-mode rejection ratio (CMRR) 180 dB at DC and 118 dB at 350 MHz
- 85 kVspk common-mode voltage range
- Differential voltage range from ±0.01 V to ±20 kV with interchangeable tips
- Noise < 0.3 mVrms; DC gain accuracy 1%; zero point drift < 0.1%
- Input capacitance < 3 pF
- Direct SMA small-signal measurement with integrated 2:1 attenuation
- No automatic zeroing, no temperature drift, uninterrupted laser operation
- MCX and MMCX coaxial connectors; 2 m fiber (custom lengths available)
- Ships with OP50 (±25 V) and OP5000 (±2500 V) damping peaks
The oscilloscope: Micsig MHO68-350
Three-phase drives or multi-stage inverters quickly require more than four channels. The MHO68-350 offers eight channels, each with 12-bit resolution and 1800 Mpts of memory, in a housing only 3.52 cm thick, which fits even in the tightest spaces.
- 350 MHz bandwidth, rise time ≤ 1 ns
- 8 analog channels, 12-bit vertical resolution
- 6 GSa/s real-time sampling, 1800 Mpts memory
- Noise < 80 µVrms
- 16-inch multi-touch display (1920 × 1200)
- BNC and Mic-OPI™ probe interfaces
- Serial decoding: RS-232/422/485/UART, CAN, CAN FD, LIN, SPI, I²C; ARINC-429 and MIL-STD-1553B optional
- Wi-Fi, LAN, USB 3.0/2.0, USB Type-C, HDMI; remote control via PC software and iOS/Android app
Why should you buy them together?
- One bandwidth class. Both instruments are designed for 350 MHz, so the system at the probe tip operates as specified.
- The entire power stage at once. One isolated channel for the floating node, seven more for gates, currents and control.
- Detailed representation of large voltage fluctuations. 12-bit resolution and a noise level of < 80 µVrms reveal overshoot and small signals in high-voltage waveforms.
- Covers low and high voltage. SMA input for small signals, OP50 up to ±25 V, OP5000 up to ±2500 V and optional peaks up to ±20 kV.
- Bus decoding is included. Check the CAN, CAN-FD, LIN, or SPI communication from the drive controller on the same device.
